Ciao! My name is Federica and I am a teacher from Florence, a city of arts, the cradle of Renaissance and the Italian language. I have 9 years of experience in sharing our beautiful language and culture with students from all over the world!

I am a teacher but also a traveler and a language learner. I have lived and traveled in many countries and speak English, Russian, French, Spanish, and a bit of Hindy and Swahili. I have a background in classical studies, a University degree in education and later I specialized in teaching Italian as a foreign language My lessons are professionally structured.

The format of the lessons and the learning content that I will provide is individually tailored to the student’s language level and learning needs. With me, you can learn Italian from the very basics to fluency, practice conversation, and prepare for all certification exams (CELI, CILS, B1 for citizenship). During the class I will share a Google Doc that we will use as an interactive whiteboard, there I will paste screenshots of different activities, extracted from modern textbooks or edited by me. My name is Valeria and I am a professional Italian Teacher. I hold a CEDILS certificate to teach Italian to foreigners, a Ph.D in Asian Studies and I have 10 years of teaching experience at Chinese Universities as well as one to one tutoring in the UK. I specialised at the University of Rome and at the University for Foreigners of Perugia in teaching Italian to foreigners and, at the moment, at the University of Portsmouth in England I am carrying out a PhD on the best strategies for learning Italian language vocabulary.

Ciao! I like to think that every student of mine was a challenge in a peculiar way. I have worked with European students abroad, retired professionals, University students in Asia, company employees and teenagers: every time I have found the best way to have fun both, taking advantage of any opportunity to understand  my language and my culture! 

I'm currently working as an online tutor with beginners, mainly from English speaking countries, who are generally not familiar with the language learning process. I usually help them to get some confidence in facing basic conversations as tourists in the country. I like to engage a fun conversation about different topics like my country's culture, Italian modern literature, art and cinema history due to my solid background in these disciplines. I am also a very curious person, keen to explore new topics, so much that I had eventually supported my students'interests through language practice (for example: reading Italian sport magazines together or watching videos about Italian cuisine).

My name is Ilaria and I studied International Communication at "University for Foreigners of Perugia", but don't worry (in Italian we would say "tranquillo"), I'm 100% italian!

I have a certification of competence in teaching Italian as a foreign language or second language (CEDILS) issued by the Ca' Foscari University of Venice.

My first experience in teaching Italian as a second language was in 2009 in the south of France.

Once back in Italy I began teaching Italian to foreign students at school...it was 2010.

I've been doing it since then and my students come from all over the world. Today I know for sure that is not enough to be a "native" to teach someone a language.

Grammar is often considered boring but we can't avoid learning it. Only when you know the role and function of every single word in a sentence you'll have a solid understanding that will improve your confidence in speaking a foreign language.  

It's like to lay the foundations for building a house!

Hi everyone, I am Anna and I am a professional Italian teacher for foreigners. I come from Venice where I live and work. I can help you in the study of modern Italian as it is really spoken nowadays. I am a bilingual Italian and English teacher and a freelance translator at Ca' Foscari University in Venice. I completed the ITALS Master's degree for teaching Italian language and culture to foreigners. My field of specialization and current research is Psycholinguistics and Neurolinguistics to better understand what happens in our brains and minds when we study a foreign language and what emotions are involved.
