¡Hola! My name is María and I'm from Mexico. 

I have 3 years of teaching experience. I majored in Languages from Universidad de las Américas Puebla and I obtained a certification to teach Spanish as a foreign language. My classes use a blended methodology that incorporates grammar and communication activities in a laid-back and dynamic way. I have hand picked or created all the materials according to the needs of my students and I often use resources like audios, videos and games to make the lesson more interactive. Hello! I am Monica and I am a certified Spanish teacher with more than 7 years experience teaching Spanish to people from all over the world.

I have many hours of teaching experience, as from 2016 to 2019 I worked in a Spanish academy in my home city, Medellín, where I worked 40 hours per week teaching Spanish as a foreign language; I had 1-to-1 sessions and also groups of up to 6 students; the classes were amazing and I loved the experience since I could meet people from a range of cultures, thanks to that I realised that there are extraordinary people from every corner of the world.

Since 2019 I have been working as an online Spanish teacher. I am studying a master's degree in London, UK, and dedicating free time to my favourite hobbies: Cooking, salsa dancing and swimming.

My lessons are planned to be enjoyable and comfortable. I use the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and I love getting to know my students well as it allows me to tailor each lesson to their personality and way of learning; every lesson you have with me will be carefully prepared for you, I hope to meet you soon!

I have been teaching for about 10 years and learning languages for even longer, so I know what it's like to learn a new language. And exactly because of that, I'm a very patient and understanding teacher :)

Regarding our classes, everything will depend on your needs. However, I would like to tell you about two types of classes I offer that my students like a lot:

The first one is a class where you can ask me any question you want about Spanish. It can be about vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, or even about our way of thinking. ;)

The second type of class is one in which I use my own teaching method, with which you can practice your writing, speaking, and listening comprehension skills, and also improve your pronunciation and grammar during every session.

Teaching Spanish is one of my passions, and I love seeing my students become passionate about learning and improving their skills every day. I firmly believe that learning Spanish should be fun, exciting, and inspiring. My main goal is for my students to learn, improve, and achieve their goals. I have been a Spanish teacher (ELE) since 2019. I studied at the Center for Applied Linguistics (CELA), the Cálamo & Cran training center, ELE International, and the European University Miguel de Cervantes. I also hold a degree in Philology and a Master’s degree in Linguistics from the University of Salamanca, and I have been an official examiner of the DELE exams since 2024. In my classes, I apply an eclectic and communicative method, tailored to the needs of my students.
