Before the lesson, I will give you an article (from english-online.net or another online source) about the topic for you to study to prepare. In the conversation lesson, we will talk about the topic. You will expand your English vocabulary with my suggestions.  You will review spoken grammar when you use it in the conversation and receive my constant feedback.  I will explain the grammar point if needed.  You will leave the lesson with many notes and some exercises to study further.

Cambridge IELTS Academic & IELTS General Training; SPEAKING ONLY → Do you need band seven or higher in the IELTS speaking test? Who is it for? Those who need to take a real-life IELTS SPEAKING test in a hurry. All aspects of the IELTS Speaking test are covered, just like the real test, with ideas and useful expressions to use in all parts of the test, and how to approach the IELTS examiner’s questions. 

Real life conversation → often looks very different to dialogues in coursebooks. I specialize in teaching adults, especially WHITE-COLLAR EMPLOYEES, to ‘Speak English better, or more fluently,’ You need to keep up a conversation on a wide range of general and business topics, expressing opinions and presenting arguments. Good form, in fact, is not to try to initiate any topics of conversation yourself at all.

I completed my TEFL in Asia and have over 6 years teaching experience with kids and adults from a combination of working in schools and online. My students tell me I have a clear and neutral accent that is easy to understand. They often comment on my relaxed and fun energy in my lessons. 

When working with children I create vibrant and interactive lessons that include phonics, writing & reading. After each class a worksheet or activity can be given. When working with adults I also like to create fun lessons. Learning grammar is stressful and I like to focus more on conversation and simplified explanations. We learn about phrasal verbs, idioms and lots of other things a new learner should need to be able to understand and speak like a native.

I live in the South West of England, and I have a standard British accent. I speak Spanish fluently and a little French. I've been teaching for over seven years now. In 2016 I completed my TESOL certificate and shortly thereafter began teaching at a private elementary school. I've worked with people ages 5-55 and my favourite thing about teaching is getting to know people from different cultures and learning all about their customs and traditions. That being said, you can definitely expect homework in my classes! For conversation lessons, we'll focus on using media to expand your vocabulary and spend the entire lesson speaking about different topics. For those who need a grammar brush-up, we'll use various books to support your learning but still focus on conversation to help you fully integrate what you've just learned! 

I also have experience preparing students for the IELTS exam for both immigration and academic purposes. I absolutely love the IELTS exam in that it provides students with a real challenge and something to aspire to. I have a wide variety of resources that I use to help you prepare which cover everything from grammar and vocabulary to the actual "how-to's" of writing the exam. I am a professional English teacher with more than 30 years of teaching experience mainly in US - NYC and UK - East Midlands. Initially as a college English and Maths teacher, these days I teach online. My learners are students who tend to improve their school grades, students who are preparing for international exams, business professionals who work or intend to work for international companies or people who learn English for pleasure.  For every individual I usually prepare some tasks for a free talk, grammar practice or a role-play situation with targeting vocabulary and phrases.
