Ciao! My name is Silvana and I have been teaching Italian at all levels for over 10 years.  

Since I was a child, I have had a great passion for foreign languages and the different cultures of the world. This passion has helped me in my many travels and cultural interactions with people from all over the world.

I worked for many years in the tourism industry and I have many hobbies and interests. I like reading, art, cooking (Italian food, of course!), music, sports, cinema, trekking, holistic therapies and much more!  

I love my language and I love to teach it! I teach Italian to adults and children, from beginner to proficiency level, in a simple and engaging way. Every lesson is personalized, using different material (books, articles, videos, audios, games, etc.). My motto is: "learning Italian is fun!"

I have a degree in Foreign Languages and Literature (specialising in American studies) at the University Institute "L'Orientale" in Naples and I hold a post-graduate Masters degree in "Didactic methodologies for teaching Italian to foreigners - Teaching Italian as a foreign language/second language".

 My lessons are engaging and never boring. I use different teaching materials for different levels and, in class,I cover all the different learning skills of a language (speaking, listening, writing and reading).

I like to focus on practical conversations and on the real use of the real italian in everyday context. Grammar is always explained in context. I find excercises and quiz games a very useful and practical way to memorize rules and vocabulary. In my lessons I also cover cultural aspects and curiosities about Italy (food, art, cinema, traditions, etc.). 

I can also teach you some Neapolitan dialect as I come from the region Campania.

I create customized lessons based on your needs and interests. I will provide you with all the material you need and I will focus on the reading and listening comprehension with the beginners (so they can start to become acquainted with the Italian language) and on conversation and fluency with the intermediate/advanced ones. Grammatical elements will be introduced as you work on your reading, listening and speaking: in this way you will learn about the language structures more naturally. During the first lesson I will give you a placement test (in order to find out your language level) and we will set the goals of the course together.

I am a native Italian teacher specialized in tutoring Italian for beginners, intermediate and advanced learners. I have been working since 2016 for several agencies and for the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in London teaching Italian from scratch. I am also a CILS tutor and exam administrator.

I hold a Bachelor in Linguistics and Italian as a second language and also worked for the publishing of an Italian Collocations Dictionary for Italian learners.

Ciao! I like to think that every student of mine was a challenge in a peculiar way. I have worked with European students abroad, retired professionals, University students in Asia, company employees and teenagers: every time I have found the best way to have fun both, taking advantage of any opportunity to understand  my language and my culture! 

I'm currently working as an online tutor with beginners, mainly from English speaking countries, who are generally not familiar with the language learning process. I usually help them to get some confidence in facing basic conversations as tourists in the country. I like to engage a fun conversation about different topics like my country's culture, Italian modern literature, art and cinema history due to my solid background in these disciplines. Hi everyone, I am Anna and I am a professional Italian teacher for foreigners. I come from Venice where I live and work. I can help you in the study of modern Italian as it is really spoken nowadays. I am a bilingual Italian and English teacher and a freelance translator at Ca' Foscari University in Venice. I completed the ITALS Master's degree for teaching Italian language and culture to foreigners. My field of specialization and current research is Psycholinguistics and Neurolinguistics to better understand what happens in our brains and minds when we study a foreign language and what emotions are involved.
