Hi, I'm Ava! I'm a native French speaker and a fluent English speaker, I've been tutoring French online for almost six years and I also have experience teaching younger students in the classroom.

It definitely takes guts for someone to take the obscure path of French learning, especially when you know that almost no francophone can speak French perfectly. And it is this courageous desire detected in French learners that made me want to start teaching this language three years ago. In fact, besides the syntactic complexity of this language (which, by the way, is most likely to be a cliché), French is a very poetic language, as it allows countless accesses to figurative speeches (so if you tend to be a little sarcastic at times, this might be perfect for you). It is always a pleasure to be able to have a fluent conversation (or a heated debate) with students who sometimes started as total beginners and to see them acing their exams.

As for the method, I use trusted manuals and activity books because I believe in structure, but also material that suits your interests and tastes - from literature to popular songs, news to scientific articles, series, and movies (subtitled or not), online resources and grammar exercises. Resources are shared on a Slack group where lessons are summarized, and tasks listed. I can also tailor-make lessons for a specific objective like a job interview or a power point presentation.

Teaching French has been my main activity for several years both privately and at the Alliance Française. I am outgoing and chatty, but homework is not optional (at least if you want to improve fast!).

My name is Célia, a native French teacher living in Germany. I have graduated of my master of French as a Foreign Language [teaching French to foreigners] in 2020 at the university of Paul-Valéry in Montpellier, and I became a DELF (A1-B2) corrector in 2022. I grew up in a small village next to Montpellier, and I have been living in Germany for the past 3 years.

During my master’s degree, I learned how to create didactic unit (lessons), exams, and how to use the CEFR (common European Framework of Reference for Languages). I have been teaching French online for the last 3 years to students ranging from level A1 to level B2, and students of all ages: children, teenagers, and adults. Whether you need some help with preparing an exam, want to build on your knowledge or just want to practice your oral skills, I am more than happy to help you!

During our first class, I will ask you: why you want to learn French, what are your goals, what are your interests, if you want to study one aspect of the language more than another, what is your current level of French etc. Our first conversation during our trial lesson will allow me to get an idea of your level and to prepare a plan for our next lessons. The resources I use are diverse: oral comprehension from the media, text comprehensions [studies of books, articles, extracts of text], grammar exercises etc. The resources are adapted to your level and your objectives. My teaching method is mainly based on communicative and action-oriented approaches. I was born and raised in a suburb of Paris before starting to travel at the age of 20. I moved to Thailand six years ago and haven't left since! I have been teaching English and French for over 5 years now. I love traveling, riding motorcycles, baking, reading, working out, and upcycling clothes. I am fluent in English, I can speak Thai and I recently started learning reading and writing in Thai.

I'm Caroline. Originally from France.  With a background as a primary school French teacher for four years, I've decided to take a break from my teaching role in France to explore the world and teach in other country. I also give private French lessons since 4 years.

I find great joy in the world of cinema. Music is another passion of mine. I'm an avid reader, finding solace in the pages of books that take me on journeys beyond imagination. I'm Tina! Originally from Paris, France, where I lived for most of my life, I’ve been living overseas for the past 10 years and currently in beautiful British Columbia, Canada!

I've been a full time tennis coach for 16 years in several countries and changed careers 3 years ago for the social work field. I’ve also been tutoring students in English and French all throughout my tennis coaching years and up to this day! From complete beginners to advanced levels, children to adults, group and private lessons, I love the variation and finding new ways to make lessons fun and adapted to each student’s own needs and expectations!

I’ve been a student myself, learning English, Spanish, Dutch... Hi! I'm Méloée, I am 28 and I've been teaching French since 2015. I was born and grew up in Bretagne (North-West of France), lived for 7 years in Argentina, 2 years in Marseille (in the South of France) and I live now in Barcelona, Spain. I speak French, Spanish and English, and I am also currently learning Portuguese.

I teach to all levels and ages. Conversation classes, to prepare a trip, an exam, to learn from zero, to practice grammar... we'll see together what are your goals and preferences and I'll tailor my lessons to you. 

In my experience the quickest and best way to progress is speaking and practicing a lot, so I always try to include a lot of practice in my lessons. 

For example, a class may start with a text or video (more or less difficult depending on your level) to practice comprehension, then I'll ask you some specific questions about the document to see if you understood well and see the new vocabulary. Then I'll ask more generic questions around the theme of the video/text, so you talk about your opinion on the subject, related experiences... This way, you'll speak a lot and it allows me to identify easily if you may need some theoretical exercises on specific points.

I will always build my classes depending on your needs. If you are confortable using specifics learning methods or material, let me know and we will plan something together.
