My name is Oana Maria and I am a professional language teacher and a Linguist graduated at the University of Bordeaux , France. I am currently living in North Norway. I came here to take a second master on Sami language and culture, and recently I have been working in an alternative school with kids.

My name is Diane, I am from the French-speaking part of Switzerland and I am living in Greece at the moment.

I have been a French teacher for people claiming asylum in Switzerland for more than two years now, therefore I have good material for beginners wanting to start learning French. I have taught to groups of adults from A0 to B1 levels with great results!

My methodology is quite flexible according to what my students prefer, though I like starting from daily-life situations (going grocery shopping, book an appointment at the doctor's, taking the train...) and elaborating on new vocabulary, grammar rules, verb tenses from that starting point. Reading some French simple texts, listening to French songs and/or playing games in French are also tools that I love using if you are interested in trying this out! Languages are a passion of mine, I am currently working on language 5 and 6. Because I've been learning other languages  I am very familiar with the difficulties my students can have and which methods are efficient. 

My first objective is for my student to develop the skills to speak and understand French so that they can be independant consulting French content at home. My classes are very relaxed and I try to have a good time while I teach. My classes are tailored to each student's level. 

• For beginners: we work on the elements of the sentence, conjugating verbs, prononciation exercises, we read basic text and we start writing and speaking in French. we also introduce the idea of daily practice.
• For intermediates we work on more advanced grammatical concepts and conjugating with more tenses, we work with audio and written format (about 50/50 technique and practice)
• For advanced students we usually do more conversation based exercises, prior to the class I'll send a podcast, documentary, youtube video, movie extracts and more and the student have to express their thoughts, their critic or commentary on the topic, on my hand I will ask questions to keep the conversation going. We can also do interview prep, review of essays written in French etc.

 I also do give a little bit of homework.

About me

I graduated in French Literature, Philosophy and History (Université Paris 10), and I hold a M. Sc. in Global Change Management (HNE Eberswalde).

Before I moved to São Paulo, Brazil, I lived five years in Berlin where I started to teach. There I tutored privately and also gave literacy classes in German for young refugees. From May 2017 to September 2017, I did training to be a French teacher and I taught French at the Technical University of Berlin for three semesters.

At the moment, I work with several language schools in São Paulo (IFESP, Versátil Idiomas, and the French Alliance). I have experience with teaching to all levels and ages. I also have experience in creating didactic material. 

In parallel to my teaching activities, I also have a solid experience with translation work (English, German, Portuguese > French).

About me?

 Initially I finished my baccalaureate in Literature (2001) but since then life brought me a bit everywhere. I volunteered for various populations (4 years), and graduated in BSSW (2019). Swiss, I call myself a wanderer because my heart got colored with all the beautiful cultures I have encountered on my exotic journey in Europe, Kenya, and Philippines.

Being a native French speaker and fluent in English, passionate about languages and having been down the path of learning a new language myself, I understand the struggles that a new language learner might have and I know how to be successful, whatever level you decide you want to achieve. 

All the lessons are ONLINE, through Zoom (or Skype). I use various contents such as workbooks, audio documents, and videos and I am trying to keep up to date with the constant flow of new learning material to give you the best experience. Hi! I'm Méloée, I am 28 and I've been teaching French since 2015. I was born and grew up in Bretagne (North-West of France), lived for 7 years in Argentina, 2 years in Marseille (in the South of France) and I live now in Barcelona, Spain. I speak French, Spanish and English, and I am also currently learning Portuguese.

I teach to all levels and ages. Conversation classes, to prepare a trip, an exam, to learn from zero, to practice grammar... we'll see together what are your goals and preferences and I'll tailor my lessons to you. 

In my experience the quickest and best way to progress is speaking and practicing a lot, so I always try to include a lot of practice in my lessons. 

For example, a class may start with a text or video (more or less difficult depending on your level) to practice comprehension, then I'll ask you some specific questions about the document to see if you understood well and see the new vocabulary. Then I'll ask more generic questions around the theme of the video/text, so you talk about your opinion on the subject, related experiences... This way, you'll speak a lot and it allows me to identify easily if you may need some theoretical exercises on specific points.
