Bonjour! Whether you are a relatively new French speaker, someone looking to polish their skills or simply want to opportunity to speak French, I’m excited to meet you. 

What do I offer? I offer French conversations and classes to improve speaking skills, pronunciation and vocabulary so that students become comfortable with the language and have fluid conversations with real people. You won’t have to say ‘comme ci comme ça’ ever again!

I aim to improve your comprehension and practice of the language, as I believe this is the best way to learn. To steer our conversations, I will consider your goals and craft lesson content to meet your needs, levels and objectives; these are aspects we will define together during our trial lesson. Although I do not set homework (unless you would like some of course!), I love to keep in contact with my students via email and often share tailored French content such as videos, podcasts and songs. 

My teaching style? My teaching style tends to be informal yet informative, as I want my students to have fun while learning more about French life and how natives speak French in their daily lives. If you would prefer a more formal approach, I’m happy to adapt our sessions to meet your needs. I use the silent method for correcting mistakes, allowing you to speak without worry. At the end of the discussion, I will inform you of the mistakes and how to correct them. 

A little about me. I’m a native French speaker from Northern France; however, my friends describe me as a ‘woman with a suitcase’ because I’m always on the move! With a bachelor's in applied modern languages and in the process of doing a Master's in French as a foreign language, I am very passionate about language learning and teaching my native tongue, french!  I have been teaching French for 7 years online and offline to people of various ages. I am familiar with the DELF A1-B2 examinations and the different schoolbooks in Hong Kong but I also teach casually in pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar.

I like to adapt my lessons according to the levels and goals of my students. I work with beginners to B2 intermediate level. My main goal is for you to come out of my lessons feeling more confident in the language. 

For the trial lesson:

- I will first send you a Google docs document. This document is for you to have access to the lesson plans before the lesson and for you to add your own notes. 

- In the first few minutes, I usually ask for you to present yourself and what you expect out of our lessons.  

- I like to start with some simple exercises to see how you feel about grammar, reading, listening, and speaking. 

If you want to focus on speaking only we will do various speaking exercises for you to be more confident in the language. If you want to practice for the DELF A1 to B2 exams or any examinations in your school/university we will work on whichever section you feel needs the most work. Languages are a passion of mine, I am currently working on language 5 and 6. Because I've been learning other languages  I am very familiar with the difficulties my students can have and which methods are efficient. 

My first objective is for my student to develop the skills to speak and understand French so that they can be independant consulting French content at home. My classes are very relaxed and I try to have a good time while I teach. My classes are tailored to each student's level. 

• For beginners: we work on the elements of the sentence, conjugating verbs, prononciation exercises, we read basic text and we start writing and speaking in French. we also introduce the idea of daily practice.
• For intermediates we work on more advanced grammatical concepts and conjugating with more tenses, we work with audio and written format (about 50/50 technique and practice)
• For advanced students we usually do more conversation based exercises, prior to the class I'll send a podcast, documentary, youtube video, movie extracts and more and the student have to express their thoughts, their critic or commentary on the topic, on my hand I will ask questions to keep the conversation going. We can also do interview prep, review of essays written in French etc.

 I also do give a little bit of homework.

I have been a language teacher since 2014. I graduated from the University of Oregon in the US with a Master of arts (French culture and Literature) and then I got a bachelor of Teaching French as a 2nd language from the University of Nantes, France. I started teaching at the University of Oregon as a GTF and it helped me find my path, teaching became a part of my identity and I really found myself thanks to this experience. Afterwards, I started to travel around south east Asia and moved to Vietnam and started teaching English to Vietnamese students. I started teaching French online when I moved to the Philippines in 2019, and have continued since in several countries such as Canada and France.
