Hi! I am Larissa, I am originally from Frankfurt, Germany. Since 2019, I've been teaching German as a foreign language via video chat and in face-to-face sessions. My students come from all over the world, from various age groups and have different skill levels. Depending on your skill level and requirements, we might start at the very beginning, dig into some grammar, do listening, reading and/or conversational exercises. I can also help you with different exam preparations or getting you ready to travel/move to a German speaking country. I like to work with free online sources, but am also happy to work with any material that my students bring to class. It is important to me to create a friendly and judge free atmosphere for my students where they feel comfortable just speaking and asking questions.
I am very passionate about traveling, exploring other countries and learning languages. Teaching is a great way for me to meet people from all over the world and learning about their cultures as well. Currently I am located in Costa Rica and learning Spanish.

Hello, my name is Nataliia . Teaching German is not only my job, but also my hobby, which makes me a happy person. I will be happy to share this happiness with you during exciting and not at all boring German lessons!
The lessons with me are a complete immersion in the world of the fascinating German language. I only use authentic materials (books from Klett, Hueber, Cornelsen; blogs, music, videos by Germans), lots of interactive exercises, games. Lessons are based on the student's preferences, so I select the material individually, depending on the student's wishes and hobbies. I organize the lessons so that 80% of the lessons are spoken by the student. We have conversations, discuss current problems in the life of Germans and other peoples. Lessons with me is not only learning a foreign language, but also constant self-development, improvement in various areas of knowledge.

Hello!
My name is Anna, I'm from Switzerland. I currently live in Ecuador.
After completing my Bachelors degree for teaching in 2015, I started teaching German, but also English and French.
My courses are based on the level, goals and interests of the student. I focus especially on communication. For beginners, we start with structured sentences and everyday topics. I often talk to advanced students about interests and factual topics. I adapt my courses to the student and according to his/her needs we do vocabulary training, grammar exercises, writing or other tasks. That way allows you to advance quickly and improve your language skills remarkably.
I work with various materials, including a teaching aid that I will share with you online for free.
I love to travel and languages are very important to me. Next to my German classes, I teach yoga workshops, love to read and write, make music, go hiking or travel.
Through my education and travel I have learned a variety of languages including English, Spanish and French. So I know that learning a language can be challenging, but it is totally worth it and a lot of fun!
Let’s get started!
I am looking forward to meeting you!
Anna

German version:
Hallo!
So machst du schnell Fortschritte.

Welcome to my profile. My name is Maike, I'm 28 years old. Currently, I live and work in Munich, one of the biggest cities in southern Germany. I grew up in a little village in Baden-Württemberg (south of Germany), did my Bachelor degree in Passau (Bayern), lived in France for a while (Paris and Strasbourg) and in Spain (Valencia) as well, then did my masters degree in Oldenburg (northern Germany). Languages are my passion, as well as travelling, good food and lovely conversations.
As my main job is working in HR, tutoring and teaching German is a side hustle. Initially, I wanted to stop teaching German when I started my first ”real” job.. As it turns out, I really love teaching though and I couldn’t stop doing it, although I have a limited amount of time when I can do it.
But I’ve been teaching for such a long time now, and I’ve enjoyed the experience so much that I cannot imagine my life without it. By now, I have made friends all over the world whilst teaching, and I enjoy the experience so much that I wouldn’t want to miss it for the world.
In my eyes, it is a great honour to be able to teach people about my language and my culture, as German and Germany have so much to offer. It’s an enriching experience to get into an exchange with people from other places and learn about their costumes and their culture too.
You'd like to work on your conversation skills? No problem! As I am a very talkative person, we'll never have the problem of not finding something that we both want to talk about. Such things as grammar are necessary too sometimes - ugh, not cool, I know, right?! - but we'll make it fun and use exercises including things of your everyday life to get the most of it.
Interested in learning German with me? Just book a 30 min trial session, select my calendar and we'll soon meet for the first time and we can continue your journey of progress with this great language!
Ich freue mich darauf, dich kennenzulernen! / Looking forward to meeting you!

I am happy you decided to learn German.
With me as your tutor, you will get the support and motivation you need to reach your goals and make the progress you are looking for. My classes are not only educational but fun. I firmly believe that language learning should be motivating to ensure students’ success.
Since earning my Master’s in Teaching German as a Foreign Language, I have been teaching my native language at universities and language schools in Germany and abroad for fifteen years.
My teaching approach is communicative, intercultural and learner-centered. Over the years I have developed my own material which I supplement with current course books, online material and authentic sources like German songs, TV programs/films and literature.
No matter if you are a beginner or an advanced learner, no matter what area you’d like to focus on, be it general German, business German or exam preparation, I am going to tailor the lessons to your individual needs in order to ensure the best possible outcome.
As a polyglot myself, I am familiar with the challenges of learning a new language and I can give you helpful tips along the way.
All you need to bring is the necessary motivation and dedication, and we’re ready to go.
Lass uns Deutsch lernen! (Let’s learn German!)
I hope to see you soon in a trial session.

P.S. I have a Zoom Pro account, so feel free to choose this option when booking a class.

Hello,
my name is Florentin, I've been teaching German for the last 8 years, working both with groups at university and 1-on-1.
Maybe the most important aspect for me is the atmosphere in which you can be at ease and speak freely without any fear of making mistakes. Mistakes are not only a natural part of the process, but have to be made and will help your understanding. Our class is a safe space where you can express yourself exactly as you do now and ask all the questions you may have.
In a session we might do conversational exercise, go over your texts together, listen to music to improve listening comprehension, rehearse an exam, take a clarifying look into any specific topic you feel slightly or heavily confused about, read a book or text of your choice together or do grammar exercises, advance your German from the ground up, play some games to get familiar with this language.
All these activities, that can be fun, can also help us see what is needed for you to advance - in your own way and in your own time.
We can use my materials and you are also welcome to bring whatever you would like to work with.
More about me:
I initially started teaching German after a one-year journey through South America which I undertook after graduating from university. During these travels I learned Spanish and subsequently got the task of offering tuition to students at university who were struggling with reading academic texts in German. Thereafter I started teaching all German levels to different groups at university and also to students individually and have been doing so for over 9 years now, in-person and online. I've also been leading translation groups and lecturing on other language topics like language philosophy.
Living and teaching German in other countries for several years gave me deeper insight both into learning languages and into my own mother tongue and during that time I naturally adopted the role of a bridge between cultures and languages.
I speak English and Spanish fluently and one of these languages could serve as additional support for our work together in case we share it :)

I do not only teach languages to earn money, it is my passion to teach, to have conversations with people from various countries, to allow someone to learn a new language, to open doors in this global world.
I am a German native, single mom of 2, with more than 10 years of teaching experience and about 20 years of tutoring experience. I have been teaching online for more than 6 years, but also taught in colleges, language schools and many private settings.
I have lived in the US for 7 years and came back to Germany in 2017. In 2020 I decided to become a full-time online teacher. I teach grammar, vocabulary, prepare you for tests and also for interviews, small talk or travels. I enjoy conversations as much as exam prep.
I would love to teach you soon! Please watch my video and book a trial session with me!

My name is Denise and I am a native German speaker. I have taught more than 2,000 classes online with people from all over the world. As a language learner myself (I am learning Spanish), I know how difficult and sometimes frustrating it can be. Are you learning German, but you cannot hold simple conversations? Do you have difficulties understanding native speakers? Start communicating in German, think in German, and feel confident speaking German. Learn grammar, new vocabulary, and typical phrases while you build confidence in speaking.
Learning German with me feels like chatting with a friend. Together we'll train to compare opinions, share experiences, and more by using topics related to you. Talking about your life and interests will make learning fun.
My conversational training concept depends on your level and your language learning goals. As your teacher, I can help you to talk about your daily life, and interests, or express ideas and feelings. Also, I will give you texts or articles to discuss during class. This way, I introduce you to new vocabulary, which we practice immediately. I like to ask tons of questions to give you as much space to talk in German as possible.
I am a marketing professional with experience in the international event industry and product management. I know how it is to work in Germany for German companies. Therefore I look forward to helping you prepare for job interviews, speeches, presentations, organizing meetings, and more. Together, we will boost your communication skills, not only the language.
See Reviews From StudentsSome tutors on LanguaTalk may offer local lessons, but most only provide online lessons as it is more convenient and allows them to work from home. In addition, many tutors do not teach German in Zurich as they live elsewhere in the world. If you book a lesson with a tutor, you should assume that it will be online unless the tutor specifically states that they offer in-person lessons in Zurich.
Sometimes students tell us that they're not sure about learning German online because they think it’ll be completely different to learning face-to-face. But usually when they try it, they find that the experience is almost the same and they often build a solid relationship with their tutor.
Once you start a video call with your chosen tutor, you’ll be able to communicate with them as if you were in the same room. The tutor will typically also share learning resources with you (newspaper articles, YouTube, etc.) and you’ll be able to collaborate in real-time using a tool like Google Docs or Dropbox Paper.
Our research indicates that the average cost for private German lessons in Zurich is between $25-$35 per hour. Online tutors do not need to travel to you and often live in countries with a lower cost of living, so the hourly cost is generally lower.
There are several options for learning German in Zurich, whether you live in the city center or the suburbs. You can use an app or software program to learn basic vocabulary and grammar. You can also join group lessons with German tutors in Zurich if you prefer a social learning experience. Alternatively, you can take one-on-one lessons with a private tutor, which is more expensive but may be the most effective option if you have a good tutor. Learning online may make private tutors a more affordable choice. Prices vary based on the tutor, but are generally cheaper than in-person lessons in Zurich.
If you prefer not to learn online with tutor, LanguaTalk may not be the right choice for you. Instead, you can search for tutor, we recommend giving online learning a try as it is often as good as in-person learning and allows you to access better tutors at a lower cost. You can also book a free trial session to see if it is right for you.
The advantage of taking lessons online is that you can learn at any time and from any location. When you select a tutor, check their calendar to ensure that they have available slots that fit your schedule. Some tutors may have limited availability due to high demand from other students.

In general, we recommend 55-minute lessons for most students. You may want to consider 30-minute lessons only if you have an intermediate level and only want conversation practice, or if the lesson is for a child.
