I have been a language teacher since 2014. I graduated from the University of Oregon in the US with a Master of arts (French culture and Literature) and then I got a bachelor of Teaching French as a 2nd language from the University of Nantes, France. I started teaching at the University of Oregon as a GTF and it helped me find my path, teaching became a part of my identity and I really found myself thanks to this experience. Afterwards, I started to travel around south east Asia and moved to Vietnam and started teaching English to Vietnamese and indonesian students. I started teaching French online when I moved to the Philippines in 2019, and have continued since in several countries such as Canada (Quebec and BC), France, Panama...

I provide personalized online classes, based on your level (from A1 to C2), your goals and your interests. Each class will include grammatical introductions/reminders, listening comprehension but most of all speaking practice. If you are planning to take the DELF exam, I can also help! Homework will be provided outside of class to not waste time during the lesson. From daily life situations, to current events and news, we will have a wide range of different topics.

I hold degrees in French Literature, Philosophy, and History from Université Paris 10, along with a Master of Science in Global Change Management from HNE Eberswalde.

Before settling in São Paulo, Brazil, I lived and worked in Berlin for five years, where I began teaching languages through private tutoring and literacy classes for young refugees. Languages are a passion of mine, I am currently working on language 5 and 6. Because I've been learning other languages  I am very familiar with the difficulties my students can have and which methods are efficient. 

My first objective is for my student to develop the skills to speak and understand French so that they can be independant consulting French content at home. My classes are very relaxed and I try to have a good time while I teach. My classes are tailored to each student's level. 

• For beginners: we work on the elements of the sentence, conjugating verbs, prononciation exercises, we read basic text and we start writing and speaking in French. we also introduce the idea of daily practice.
• For intermediates we work on more advanced grammatical concepts and conjugating with more tenses, we work with audio and written format (about 50/50 technique and practice)
• For advanced students we usually do more conversation based exercises, prior to the class I'll send a podcast, documentary, youtube video, movie extracts and more and the student have to express their thoughts, their critic or commentary on the topic, on my hand I will ask questions to keep the conversation going. We can also do interview prep, review of essays written in French etc.

 I also do give a little bit of homework.

It is always a pleasure to be able to have a fluent conversation (or a heated debate) with students who sometimes started as total beginners and to see them acing their exams.

As for the method, I use trusted manuals and activity books because I believe in structure, but also material that suits your interests and tastes - from literature to popular songs, news to scientific articles, series, and movies (subtitled or not), online resources and grammar exercises. Resources are shared on a Slack group where lessons are summarized, and tasks listed. I can also tailor-make lessons for a specific objective like a job interview or a power point presentation.

Teaching French has been my main activity for several years both privately and at the Alliance Française. I am outgoing and chatty, but homework is not optional (at least if you want to improve fast!).

My name is Célia, a native French teacher living abroad. I graduated with a master’s degree in French as a Foreign Language [teaching French to foreigners] in 2020 at the University of Paul-Valéry in Montpellier, and I became a certified DELF (A1–B2) corrector in 2022. I grew up in a small village near Montpellier, and I have lived in Northern Ireland, Germany, and Asia.

During my master’s degree, I learned how to create didactic units (lessons), design exams, and work with the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). I have been teaching French both online and on-site—in international schools and at the Alliance Française : from A1 to C2 levels, to learners of all ages: children, teenagers, and adults. In our first class, I’ll ask you why you want to learn French, what your goals and interests are, what your current level is, and if you want to focus on any particular aspect of the language. Hello, how are you? My name is Sylvain, I'm 30 and from Belgium. I currently live in São Paulo, Brazil with my wife. I have a degree in management, but I've been working as a French teacher since I arrived in Brazil. 
I did a university exchange in Chile, which helped me learn Spanish.  I'm a curious person and I'm interested in almost every topic, but I particularly like talking about the economy, politics, technology and cultural differences between countries.After arriving in Brazil, an opportunity came up for me to work as a French teacher in a school for adults, where I worked for the first two years. After that, I decided to become self-employed and concentrate on one-to-one, in-company and online teaching. I am an enthusiastic French teacher (I also teach English, Russian, Spanish and German). So, your mother tongue can be any of these languages  as I   speak and teach in all of these languages. Learning grammar is only one part of learning a language, the other part is practicing, and of course having as much fun as possible during the learning process! I work with a book to give your learning a structure. However, I also choose interesting videos, audio files and conversation topics so that you get immersed into the language as much as possible. 

My focus lies on the right pronunciation, motivating you and showing you that learning a language can be lots of fun. I have lived and worked two years in the South of France and have a German diploma in translation and interpretation for French, German and English. I speak 7 languages and 5 of them fluently. I want to show you that it is possible to learn a new language fast and with fun. I usually need 3-4 weeks in order to speak a new language fluently. How do I do it? Through as much immersion into the language as possible: reading books, comics, watching cartoons, films, YouTube videos, listening to songs, and speaking to natives in real life and online.
