Hello, my name is Laura, I’m 30 and I come from Paris (France). 

I am passionate about travelling and culture. I have been working for 5 years for Paris Tourist Office and I know many aspects of our beautiful capital city. When I used to live in Paris, I loved to explore every corner of my favorite neighborhoods. Cooking is also one of my hobbies. French gastronomy abounds with delicious recipes that I love to reproduce. I would be pleased to share all of this with you through my French lessons.

I had the opportunity to support foreigners (from the USA, China, Mexico) in learning French when they were in France. They had different needs and objectives wether they were in France to study or to work. Hence, we worked on adapted topics such as grammatical rules, conjugation or how to express oneself orally for formal or informal conversations. 

For the first part of my higher education, I went to preparatory school in literature. It allowed me to get in-depth knowledge in French language, literature and history. Then I studied in an international context in which I got a Business and Entrepreneurship Bachelor and Marketing and Brand Management Master. Well... Are you? 

It definitely takes guts for someone to take the obscure path of French learning, especially when you know that almost no francophone can speak French perfectly. And it is this courageous desire detected in French learners that made me want to start teaching this language three years ago. In fact, besides the syntactic complexity of this language (which, by the way, is most likely to be a cliché), French is a very poetic language, as it allows countless accesses to figurative speeches (so if you tend to be a little sarcastic at times, this might be perfect for you). I started teaching at the University of Oregon as a GTF and it helped me find my path, teaching became a part of my identity and I really found myself thanks to this experience. About me

I graduated in French Literature, Philosophy and History (Université Paris 10), and I hold a M. Sc. in Global Change Management (HNE Eberswalde).

Before I moved to São Paulo, Brazil, I lived five years in Berlin where I started to teach. There I tutored privately and also gave literacy classes in German for young refugees. From May 2017 to September 2017, I did training to be a French teacher and I taught French at the Technical University of Berlin for three semesters.

At the moment, I work with several language schools in São Paulo (IFESP, Versátil Idiomas, and the French Alliance). I have experience with teaching to all levels and ages. I also have experience in creating didactic material. 

In parallel to my teaching activities, I also have a solid experience with translation work (English, German, Portuguese > French).
