My name is Chris, I am from Austria and I would love to be your German teacher. 

I have a wide variety of experience. I started teaching German during my studies. We exchanged languages, so I was able to learn some French, Italian, Polish and Russian. During a two-year long journey around the world, I was giving German lessons voluntarily in Russia, Korea, Vietnam and some more countries. For me it is great to help people achieving their goals. To do that, my first emphasis is to create a pleasant learning atmosphere. Building up on that, I use many techniques and exercises in order to aid your learning.

We can simply start from scratch, refresh your German, or have some advanced level classes. I will tailor the lessons according to your needs and your German will improve fast. During our trial lesson we can talk about your expectations and needs, and I will tell you how I plan to support and teach you.

I am a native German speaker and have lived in the UK for over 25 years.

Willkommen auf meinem Profil. Mein Name ist Maike und ich bin 26 Jahre alt. / Welcome to my profile. My name is Maike, I'm 26 years old. Currently I live in the northern part of Germany in a city called Oldenburg, doing my Master degree in cultural analysis. I grew up in a little village in Baden-Württemberg (south of Germany), did my Bachelor degree in Passau (Bayern), lived in France for a while (Paris and Strasbourg) and in Spain (Valencia) as well. Languages are my passion, as well as travelling, good food and lovely conversations. 

I love to get to know new people from around the world and share the knowledge about my mother tongue, my culture (such as food, drinks and festivities) and everything surrounding it. You'd like to work on your conversation skills? No problem! As I am a very talkative person, we'll never have the problem of not finding something that we both want to talk about. Such things as grammar are necessary too sometimes - ugh, not cool, I know, right?! - but we'll make it fun and use exercises including things of your everyday life to get the most of it.

Teaching Approach

There are many ways to teach a lesson. I'm a lover of a varied approach whenever applicable. I can honestly say that I will always do my very best to find suitable methods in order to facilitate comprehension and learning.

Over the course of a lesson, I might use audio files, videos, transcripts, books, worksheets or custom-tailored exercises that I feel are best suited for that particular student. Likewise, I will also train conversation - practical or otherwise.

I highly value being kind, patient, modest and encouraging. I always strive to create an environment that fosters a positive feeling. An inviting atmosphere is essential for learning anything at all. I welcome mistakes students make because it's normal to do so, plus that is one of the best ways to learn something properly.

My ultimate goal for you, as my student, is to enjoy yourself while learning and progressing!

Students are different, and all have their own individual needs and expectations. I see myself as someone who is guiding them along their chosen path. Occasionally prompting them to discover (the beauty of) a concept here and there they might otherwise have overlooked. Helping them to develop long-term strategies that will make them feel accomplished and self-assured.

Qualifications & Experience

I've studied at a German university. I've worked as a full time teacher in German trade schools for many years. I've easily taught more than 4,500 lessons over the years. I taught students from all walks of life, with their ages ranging from fifteen to forty-five years.

Teaching, in general, has always been something that I deeply admire. To be able to help others comprehend a concept, and to contribute to their learning progress, is a meaningful endeavour and deeply rewarding! I enjoy it more than I could ever adequately describe.

my name is Florentin, I've been teaching German for the last 8 years, working both with groups at university and 1-on-1.

Maybe the most important aspect for me is the atmosphere in which you can be at ease and speak freely without any fear of  making mistakes. Mistakes are not only natural and part of the process, but have to be made and will help your understanding. Our class is a safe space where you can express yourself exactly as you do now and ask all the questions you may have.

In a session we might do conversational exercise, rehearse an exam, go over your texts together, take a clarifying look into any specific topic you feel slightly or heavily confused about, listen, read a text of your choice together or do grammar exercises, advance your German from scratch, play some games to get familiar with this language. All these activities that can be fun can also help us see what is needed for you to advance - in your own way and in your own time.

We can use my materials and you are also welcome to bring whatever you would like to work with.

More about me:
I initially started teaching German after a one-year journey through South America which I undertook after graduating from university. During these travels I learned Spanish and subsequently got the task of offering tuition to students at University who were struggling with reading academic texts in German. Thereafter I started teaching all German levels to different groups at university and also to students individually and have been doing so for over 8 years now, in-person and online. I've also been leading translation groups and lecturing on other language topics like language philosophy. 
Living and teaching German in other countries for several years gave me deeper insight both into learning languages and into my own mother tongue and during that time I naturally adopted the role of a bridge between cultures and languages. 

I speak English and Spanish fluently and one of these languages could serve as additional support for our work together in case we share it :)

I am a qualified native German teacher (PGCE) from a town near Dortmund and I have been teaching German as a foreign language for over 30 years in a Grammar school setting in Northern Ireland. I have experience in the following: -

• Teaching students to GCSE and A level examinations in my school and privately.
• Prepared students of all ages for the Goethe Institute level A2 and B1 examination.
• Teaching the Junior and Leaving Higher Certificate in German. 
• Teaching children who were born or had lived in Germany for some time but then moved back to the UK and successfully helped them retain their German and also complete the GCSE and A2 examinations for the Goethe Institute. 
• Teaching adults who have relocated to Germany and needed to pass the B1 examination to apply for Citizenship in Germany.
•  I also have given lessons to students who simply enjoyed learning German for fun and travel. 

My teaching is as varied as my students are. I often use the online version of the textbook recommended  by the Goethe Institute "Berliner Platz" A1, A2 and B1 level. I adapt my learning style to suit individual needs should you prefer conversational German or a more grammar focused lesson. I make the lesson enjoyable by including up to date teaching materials and refer to websites that will give the learner an insight into German culture as well, whenever possible, play quizzes such as Kahoot.

I am a patient and dedicated German tutor and I have worked with adults and children of all ages and German levels, so I have teaching material for every level and for exam preparation. Recently, I helped one of my students to pass the Goethe B2 exam. I started teaching languages 5 years ago and obtained a teaching certificate. I´ve been teaching German online for about 3 years. My mother tongues are German and Spanish, but I also speak English (C1 level) and a little bit of French.

Every student is unique, that´s why I prepare each lesson carefully, taking into account the needs, interests and learning goal of my students. The structure of the lesson also depends on the way of learning that works best for you. That´s what we are going to discuss in the trial lesson. Hi! I am Larissa, I am originally from Frankfurt, Germany. Since 2019, I've been teaching German as a foreign language via video chat and in face-to-face sessions. My students come from all over the world, from various age groups and have different skill levels. Depending on your skill level and requirements, we might start at the very beginning, dig into some grammar, do listening, reading and/or conversational exercises. I can also help you with different exam preparations or getting you ready to travel/move to a German speaking country. I like to work with free online sources, but am also happy to work with any material that my students bring to class. It is important to me to create a friendly and judge free atmosphere for my students where they feel comfortable just speaking and asking questions.

Hi, I'm Your new German teacher. Born and raised in Switzerland but now living in Peru. I'm an artist, graphic designer and much more. I speak fluent English, Spanish and good French. I have over three years of teaching experience - both online and classroom teaching - and I have worked with students from 11-55 years old, different levels of German, and various cultural backgrounds. We will try and speak as much German as possible right from the start, but it would be helpful if you spoke some English. If not you won't be able to read this text anyways, so I don't really know why I even wrote it here. Oh well.

Hallo! My name is Nina, I grew up in Berlin, Germany, but I´ve lived in the most northern German federal state for ten years now.

I´ve studied Linguistics and German/German as a foreign language and I have 6 years of teaching experience from A0-C1 level. I´ve been teaching German for a few years at a school (A1-B1) and at a University of Applied Science (Fachhochschule- Studienkolleg, B2-C1) and I teach German online since July 2021 and focus on the BEGINNER-levels up to B1. As you can see in my video, I can speak slowly and clearly for beginners. Due to my linguistic studies I can also help you with pronunciation and have many tips and exercises to help you improve your pronunciation.

I am well organized and have a lot of material at my disposal, also for self-learning if desired. In addition, I supplement the lessons with exercises in which you are active  and I also like to focus on pronunciation. We will set your goals at the beginning and we will work at your pace. Depending on your level in German, we come up with topics to talk about in order to practice your conversation skills: travel, politics, the cities we live in, art, culture, the news, your job, your dreams and goals - anything :) It doesn't matter if you're fluent or not, I will adjust to your level (B1 and up) so that you don't feel overwhelmed. Language learning should be fun! 

Corrections and suggestions will be provided in the chat box. (this is not a grammar class though so explanations will be kept brief to focus on the conversation and improving fluency.

Given my background as a Communications Director at a global company I'm also happy to include business topics if that's of interest to you. (as well Mock Interview Sessions are possible)

My classes are NOT for absolute beginners. As it is a conversation class, you must be able to hold at least a basic conversation.
