My name is Oana Maria and I am a professional language teacher and a Linguist graduated at the University of Bordeaux , France. I am currently living in North Norway. I came here to take a second master on Sami language and culture, and recently I have been working in an alternative school with kids. 

I am an eternal language learner and a nomad at heart. I love getting to know new places, living in different countries and cultures and never stop learning. It is always a pleasure to be able to have a fluent conversation (or a heated debate) with students who sometimes started as total beginners and to see them acing their exams.

As for the method, I use trusted manuals and activity books because I believe in structure, but also material that suits your interests and tastes - from literature to popular songs, news to scientific articles, series, and movies (subtitled or not), online resources and grammar exercises. Resources are shared on a Slack group where lessons are summarized, and tasks listed. I can also tailor-make lessons for a specific objective like a job interview or a power point presentation.

Teaching French has been my main activity for several years both privately and at the Alliance Française. I am outgoing and chatty, but homework is not optional (at least if you want to improve fast!).

I was a school teacher in France for 4 years, before moving to Argentina where I taught French for one year.

- Discuss well at the outset to determine your level, your goals, your interests, what you expect from online courses, in order to prepare a 100% personalized course.

- I rely on different methods for beginners, which I adapt to each student according to their progress. For people who have a more advanced level I like to rely on texts or videos for discussion. Whether you are here to learn French from scratch, or to improve that language, you've come to the right person. Languages are a passion of mine, I am currently working on language 5 and 6. Because I've been learning other languages  I am very familiar with the difficulties my students can have and which methods are efficient. 

My first objective is for my student to develop the skills to speak and understand French so that they can be independant consulting French content at home. My classes are very relaxed and I try to have a good time while I teach. My classes are tailored to each student's level. 

• For beginners: we work on the elements of the sentence, conjugating verbs, prononciation exercises, we read basic text and we start writing and speaking in French. we also introduce the idea of daily practice.
• For intermediates we work on more advanced grammatical concepts and conjugating with more tenses, we work with audio and written format (about 50/50 technique and practice)
• For advanced students we usually do more conversation based exercises, prior to the class I'll send a podcast, documentary, youtube video, movie extracts and more and the student have to express their thoughts, their critic or commentary on the topic, on my hand I will ask questions to keep the conversation going. We can also do interview prep, review of essays written in French etc.

 I also do give a little bit of homework.

Hello, how are you? My name is Sylvain, I'm 30 and from Belgium. I currently live in São Paulo, Brazil with my wife. I have a degree in management, but I've been working as a French teacher since I arrived in Brazil. 
I did a university exchange in Chile, which helped me learn Spanish.  I'm a curious person and I'm interested in almost every topic, but I particularly like talking about the economy, politics, technology and cultural differences between countries.After arriving in Brazil, an opportunity came up for me to work as a French teacher in a school for adults, where I worked for the first two years. After that, I decided to become self-employed and concentrate on one-to-one, in-company and online teaching. Today, I have students of all levels with different objectives (work, travel, pleasure, French language maintenance, diplomacy etc.) and I love it when they are satisfied and see themselves progressing. Learning grammar is only one part of learning a language, the other part is practicing, and of course having as much fun as possible during the learning process! I work with a book to give your learning a structure. However, I also choose interesting videos, audio files and conversation topics so that you get immersed into the language as much as possible. 

My focus lies on the right pronunciation, motivating you and showing you that learning a language can be lots of fun. I have lived and worked two years in the South of France and have a German diploma in translation and interpretation for French, German and English. I speak 7 languages and 5 of them fluently. I want to show you that it is possible to learn a new language fast and with fun. I usually need 3-4 weeks in order to speak a new language fluently. How do I do it? Through as much immersion into the language as possible: reading books, comics, watching cartoons, films, YouTube videos, listening to songs, and speaking to natives in real life and online.
